Accessibility at kathrynfinney.com

We design kathrynfinney.com with accessibility in mind and aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA where we can. We are not currently making a blanket compliance claim. We have validated the following with both automated and manual testing:

  • One <main> per page and a complete landmark structure on every page (header, main, navigation, footer)
  • All images have descriptive alternative text or are explicitly marked as decorative
  • Semantic HTML for headings, lists, and form fields
  • Newsletter signup forms use proper label association, autocomplete attributes, and status announcements compatible with screen readers
  • Modern keyboard focus indicators via :focus-visible
  • Cookie and consent controls are keyboard accessible

Known gaps we are working on

  • A skip-to-main-content link is not yet implemented on every page
  • A small number of accent-text patterns do not meet the WCAG 1.4.3 contrast threshold
